As I mentioned earlier, Gambit is my first show dog. He was born in June of 2005. He was pretty much a Daddy's boy from the first day that I saw him.
Gambit started his show career with a couple of puppy matches. The first match, he was the only chow, so automatically advanced to the group. He got a group 2nd. His next time out, there were 2 chows. He got Best of Breed and won the Non-Sporting Group.
His first point show was in Febuary of 2005. It was at the Boardwalk Kennel Club. He won Best of Winners.
At the time Gambit was beginning his show career, I was working on my Master's degree. Between work and homework, I only took him to shows once a month or every other month.
I had entered Gambit in a few shows that were pretty close together. He got his 2nd major at one of these shows. The following week, I was asked to leave him in as a "class dog" so the major would not be broken. We won again that day, so Gambit actually has 3 majors. So, he became CH Sunburst Cajun Explosion.
In December of 2007, I went to a Doggie Bazaar. They were offering the Canine Good Citizen test. I decided to let him try it. He passed with flying colors. So, now he was CH Sunburst Cajun Explosion CGC.
In January of 2008, I decided to try my hand at UKC. UKC is different. They held 4 shows in one weekend. Gambit took Best of Breed (BOB) in 3 out of 4 shows. In the 2nd show, he actually took a Group 1, so got to go to Best In Show. So, now he is
AKC/UKC CH. Sunburst Cajun Explosion CGC.
